The story behind zangra's porcelain

Soon after being established in 2009, zangra started to successfully cooperate with different porcelain factories all over the world – a cooperation that continues to this day. In recent years, zangra has spent a lot of time in world’s most famous porcelain cities. From Limoges in France to Jingdezhen in China, zangra was able to work at legendary porcelain factories. So in cooperation with the staff zangra created new models and rediscovered old forgotten molds. A number of old molds were put back in production making new pieces. zangra’s porcelain is still produced by hand, piece by piece. This makes each piece unique. zangra's work proved successful with their products being sold all over the world.

Glass: a sustainable and recyclable material

At zangra, we believe that glass should be re-inserted into our daily lives to replace plastic. Glass plays an essential role in preserving our environment. Its responsible use and sustainable life cycle make it a valuable ally in the fight to protect the ecology. One of the most commendable features of glass is its ability to be recycled almost indefinitely. Unlike other materials that lose their properties during recycling, glass can be melted and remoulded several times without altering its quality. This reduces demand for natural resources, saves energy and minimises waste.

Is the light bulb included?

The light bulb is not included when you buy this light. You will find here the whole selection of LED, incandescent, stick and halogen light bulbs. Take into account that each light needs a specific type of light bulb. You will find the kind of light bulb that it requires under the "Technical Description" tab.

What does E27 mean?

E27 stands for the type of the fitting of a lamp. E27 stands for a 27 mm diameter thread. "E" stands for Edison thread. So you always have to put an E27 light bulb in a fixture with an E27 fitting. E27 is the standard in England and most European countries.
The early light bulbs (remember them?) had a similar screw thread.
Be careful though, because there are also countries where E26 bulbs are the norm (for example in the United States).
If you would like to know which standard applies in your country, check out this page.
Check out here the complete collection of E27 light bulbs by zangra.

What does the IP value mean on a light fitting?

All light fittings are classified according to their IP value. These IP values (International Protection or Ingress Protection) indicate the degree of protection of the light fitting against dust and moisture. The IP value consists of two digits: the first digit indicates the level of protection against dust; the second, the level of protection against moisture. The higher the IP value, the higher the protection. Check this diagram to see the different existing IP values.

What does IP54 mean?

IP54 means that this lamp is protected against:
5 : dust.
4 : water splashes from all directions.
Indoor: rated for installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3.
Outdoor: suitable for outdoor use if correctly installed in zone 3 and 4 (see zone diagrams in the gallery).
See our damp-rated lights for bathroom section for more information.

At what height to hang a pendant lamp?

1. Above a dining table
Above a dining table, lower the pendant lamp so that it is up to 60 to 70 cm above the table. This means you won’t be blinded when you eat and won’t hit your head when you get up. The height indicated corresponds to the distance between the top of the table and the lowest part of the suspension light. The light should end up approximately at your eye level when you are standing, and you’ll see the underside of the light when you are sitting. You need to ensure that the light diffused by the pendant lamp illuminates the entire table.
2. Above a coffee table
A pendant lamp placed above a coffee table should be placed higher than those installed above a dining table so that you do not hit your head.
3. In the middle of a room
You should leave about 210 cm between the floor and the lowest part of the pendant lamp so that tall people do not hit their heads. If it is hung above a piece of furniture or in a corner, it can go down lower.
4. Above the kitchen worktop
Hand the light at least 180 cm from the floor or between 75 and 85 cm from your worktop or countertop. Don't hang your suspension too high, so you don't have to look at the light all the time, but it shouldn’t be too low either as it might not illuminate the whole worktop.
5. On each side of a mirror in the bathroom
If you want to hang two pendant lamps on each side of a mirror, they are best positioned according to the average eye height of your family members. It is also recommended that the two suspension lights are not more than 70 cm apart so that the face is sufficiently illuminated.

Are the screws included?
No screws are supplied, as the type of screw depends on the material of the wall or ceiling (concrete, brick, plasterboard, wood).
You need a different type of screws depending on each material.
