All light fittings are classified according to their IP value. These IP values (International Protection or Ingress Protection) indicate the degree of protection of the light fitting against dust and moisture. The IP value consists of two digits: the first digit indicates the level of protection against dust; the second, the level of protection against moisture. The higher the IP value, the higher the protection. Check this diagram to see the different existing IP values.
What does the IP69 value mean on this light fitting?
The first digit (6) indicates the degree to which the luminaire is protected against solid objects and dust.
The second digit (9) indicates protection against moisture.
6 : this product is completely dust-proof
9 : this product can be used when humidity exceeds 90% or subjected to high-pressure spraying with hot water and steam.
Indoors: this model is perfect for indoors and may be placed in a damp room.
Outdoors: this model is suitable for outdoor use.
P69 Offers the highest possible protection against dust, high-pressure steam cleaning, high-pressure water jets and high temperatures.
