It may seem counterintuitive to purify your drinking water with a stick of charcoal, but the Japanese have been doing it for centuries. Binchotan is an active carbon made from tree branches and is renowned for its ability to soften water, add good minerals and absorb unwanted tastes and odours, such as chlorine. It makes tap water taste great! You can use it with any bottle, carafe or jug. Leave it overnight in ordinary tap water and it will transform it into delicious tasting pure water.
In case of daily use, recharge the charcoal filter in boiling water after 3 months for another 3 months of carefree use. Total lifespan is 6 months.
