ZANGRA SAYS TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

This custom-made product is designed and developed by Zangra.

Assemble your lamp by choosing your preferred cable length and colour.
This price does not include textile cable, light bulb or ceiling rose. Choose your textile cable, your light bulb or your ceiling rose in the sections concerned.

Each and every single piece is unique, so results may slightly vary from piece to piece. As the enamelling process is carried out manually and not by a machine, it is possible that the enamel is applied onto the unfinished casting with a varying thickness that may cause surfaces to be slightly uneven. Some tiny black spots or pores may be visible. They are, however, part of the typical appearance of enamelled goods. They do not influence the corrosion protection.

Our lampholders have a safety feature, which means that once put together, they cannot be unscrewed anymore. This is to ensure you don’t undo the lampholder when changing the bulb and give yourself a nasty electric shock! To attach a power cord to the lampholder, you need to unscrew the base first. To do this, you have to push down the retention pin inside the lampholder (e.g. with a screwdriver) and unscrew the upper ring.

ENEC is the high quality European Mark for electrical products that demonstrates compliance with European standards. This Zangra lamp can be installed in places welcoming public, for instance: hotels, libraries, theaters, restaurants, and so forth...

At what height to hang a pendant lamp?

1. Above a dining table
Above a dining table, lower the pendant lamp so that it is up to 60 to 70 cm above the table. This means you won’t be blinded when you eat and won’t hit your head when you get up. The height indicated corresponds to the distance between the top of the table and the lowest part of the suspension light. The light should end up approximately at your eye level when you are standing, and you’ll see the underside of the light when you are sitting. You need to ensure that the light diffused by the pendant lamp illuminates the entire table.
2. Above a coffee table
A pendant lamp placed above a coffee table should be placed higher than those installed above a dining table so that you do not hit your head.
3. In the middle of a room
You should leave about 210 cm between the floor and the lowest part of the pendant lamp so that tall people do not hit their heads. If it is hung above a piece of furniture or in a corner, it can go down lower.
4. Above the kitchen worktop
Hand the light at least 180 cm from the floor or between 75 and 85 cm from your worktop or countertop. Don't hang your suspension too high, so you don't have to look at the light all the time, but it shouldn’t be too low either as it might not illuminate the whole worktop.
5. On each side of a mirror in the bathroom
If you want to hang two pendant lamps on each side of a mirror, they are best positioned according to the average eye height of your family members. It is also recommended that the two suspension lights are not more than 70 cm apart so that the face is sufficiently illuminated.

How should I install several pendant lights?
There are several ways to install pendant lamps. You can choose to install different kinds of lamps or several identical lamps. The fabric cables can be wired to a single electrical point or to several independent electrical points. If there is only one electrical point on the ceiling, but you still want to hang several pendant lamps, make sure you choose the right ceiling rose. For example, if you want to wire five lamps to one electrical point, choose a ceiling rose with at least five holes (see here), or a rose with a large opening that can accommodate several fabric cables.
You can find the complete collection of zangra ceiling roses here.
Wherever you want your pendant light to hang, you need to fix an insulator to the ceiling. An insulator is a kind of button with which you attach your cable to the ceiling. You can find several types of insulators on our page dedicated to Lighting Accessories.
