Schoolhouse wall lamp: retro elegance for an exceptional interior

Step back in time with our Schoolhouse wall light, a creation inspired by the iconic lamps of the 1920s that adorned prestigious English universities. Their classic lines were the preferred choice of institutions looking for soft, uniform ambient lighting.
Today, these lights continue to captivate with their retro aesthetic that can enhance any interior space. Our black brass wall lamp with porcelain rose has been carefully designed to bring a touch of elegance and refinement to your environment.
The timeless charm of the glass globe blends perfectly with the clean lines of the base.
Explore the past while illuminating your present with this Schoolhouse ceiling light, which subtly blends tradition and modernity, adding a vintage touch to your interior design.
This wall light requires an E27 bulb.

The story behind zangra's porcelain

Soon after being established in 2009, zangra started to successfully cooperate with different porcelain factories all over the world – a cooperation that continues to this day. In recent years, zangra has spent a lot of time in world’s most famous porcelain cities. From Limoges in France to Jingdezhen in China, zangra was able to work at legendary porcelain factories. So in cooperation with the staff zangra created new models and rediscovered old forgotten molds. A number of old molds were put back in production making new pieces. zangra’s porcelain is still produced by hand, piece by piece. This makes each piece unique. zangra's work proved successful with their products being sold all over the world.

Glass: a sustainable and recyclable material

At zangra, we believe that glass should be re-inserted into our daily lives to replace plastic. Glass plays an essential role in preserving our environment. Its responsible use and sustainable life cycle make it a valuable ally in the fight to protect the ecology. One of the most commendable features of glass is its ability to be recycled almost indefinitely. Unlike other materials that lose their properties during recycling, glass can be melted and remoulded several times without altering its quality. This reduces demand for natural resources, saves energy and minimises waste.

Is the light bulb included?

The light bulb is not included when you buy this light. You will find here the whole selection of LED, incandescent, stick and halogen light bulbs. Take into account that each light needs a specific type of light bulb. You will find the kind of light bulb that it requires under the "Technical Description" tab.

What does E27 mean?

E27 stands for the type of the fitting of a lamp. E27 stands for a 27 mm diameter thread. "E" stands for Edison thread. So you always have to put an E27 light bulb in a fixture with an E27 fitting. E27 is the standard in England and most European countries.
The early light bulbs (remember them?) had a similar screw thread.
Be careful though, because there are also countries where E26 bulbs are the norm (for example in the United States).
If you would like to know which standard applies in your country, check out this page.
Check out here the complete collection of E27 light bulbs by zangra.

Are the screws included?
No screws are supplied, as the type of screw depends on the material of the wall or ceiling (concrete, brick, plasterboard, wood).
You need a different type of screws depending on each material.

Do not use an electrical screwdriver
Do not use electrical screwdrivers when installing ceramic or porcelain items. We recommend to first drill a hole in the wall, fit the right plugs inside and use a manual screwdriver to fix the screws in place. Be especially careful during the final tightening of the screws.
