How to choose your table light ?
If you restrict it to its original use, be careful with the light bulb you're choosing ! In a bedroom, a light bulb that releases 300 lumens is enough. You should also think about the bulb's colour temperature. For a warmer and more cosy atmosphere, it is best to opt for a 2700 Kelvin light, or less.
What is the lumen of a light bulb ?
The lumen correspond to the lighting intensity of a bulb. The higher the lumen, the more intense the light. Unlike the old bulbs, with the newest LED bulbs, a high lumen value does not necessarily equal to a higher energy consumption. Opt for high lumen value in working areas like the kitchen, the bathroom, the office or the reading corner. A lower lumen value will be preferred in bedrooms or for ambient lamps.
Which colour temperature should I choose for my light bulbs ?
The colour temperature of the LED bulbs goes from cool white to warm white and is measured in Kelvin (K). The lower the value, the warmer the colour. For a cosy atmosphere, prefer 2700K light bulbs, or less. For a warehouse area-like, it will be better to use 4000K light bulbs or more for a very bright light. Between these two values, the light will be more neutral and adapted to places where you will need a more functional light like a kitchen or a bathroom.
