Its hard to think of a more practical and stylish product than this hand brush. The brush is made from a type of sorghum known as rice straw which is thin, stiff and strong, making it ideal for small brushes. And the distinctive curved handle makes it easy to single handedly sweep awkward spaces like a tent, fireplace or cupboard. This style of brush originates from the Netherlands and hence its colloquial name of Dutch brush. However, in parts of New England which were colonised by the Dutch, the brush has taken on the more characterful name of ‘turkey wing whisk broom’ as its shape and size is similar to that of a turkey wing. The straw bristles are neatly bound together by blue twine which has a loop for hanging.
