What is the best meditation cushion?

A meditation cushion, also called a "zafu", improves the body’s position during meditation exercises and relieves pressure on the knees, ankles and back. The cushion provides support during your meditation. It is important that your hips are always higher than your knees to avoid pain! Therefore, our meditation accessory will slightly tilt your pelvis backwards, relieving pressure on your back. Good posture also promotes good breathing. A straight back with hips higher than the knees are two very important aspects to have a perfect posture for meditation.

How to use a round meditation cushion

1) In a cross-legged position
Position the zafu flat on the floor. To get the right height, you can remove some padding.

2) In the Seiza position
Position the meditation cushion between your legs and sit with both knees forward and your feet flat behind.

What is the best height for a meditation cushion?

The height of this yoga cushion is adjustable and fully filled with 100% organic buckwheat straw. The height can be adjusted according to your preferences by removing some of the padding from the cushion. Usually, the ideal height is between 12 and 15 cm. But if you are very flexible or smaller in size, you can remove padding until you have a height of 10 cm. If you want to fill your meditation cushion, you can add dry rice to it. In summary, then, the more flexible you are, the lower your meditation cushion can be.
