This sneaker was developed in the fifties by an Eastern European factory Czech Boots (CeBo) in response to the popular Converse All Stars. Converse All Stars were symbolic of capitalist America. The Soviets wanted their own 'sneaker for the people' and the 'CEBO' was born. Not only did Eastern Europe fall in love with this canvas sneaker, we did too!
The idiosyncratic CEBO sneakers with Soviet past have become a part of our street scene.
There are shoes that mark an era and carry a certain spirit with them. The CEBO is such a shoe.
